Internal migration is one of the most important elements in population distribution and socio-economic change at national and regional levels. The purpose of the present paper is to study internal migration flows focusing on the results of the 2016 Census. The research method is the secondary analysis study of data from the "General Population and Housing Census" which has been used by various censuses, especially the 2016 Census. The findings of the study show that inter-city migration has increased in the 1395 census, while intra-urban migration has decreased and is at a much lower level than previous censuses. Also, the study of migration flows shows that there has been a significant increase in inter-provincial migrations during the period 1990-1995, reflecting a change in the migration pattern for a significant percentage of immigrants and provinces. According to the results obtained from the study of what can be pointed out is the role of industrial provinces in the process of inter-provincial migration. The continued role of industrial provinces in attracting immigrants from other provinces and provinces in the 2016 Census indicates that industry and industrial areas will play an important role in future population distribution.
